College Portfolio Preparation Package

First Meeting, 6 1 hour meetings to include lessons, reviews, artist statements, etc, Final Portfolio Review. Includes 3 additional 20 minute parent meetings at start, middle, and end, in partnership with students under 18: $800

8th-10th Grade Portfolio Development: Are you already enjoying making artwork, and starting to think about pursuing an art practice long-term, or in college? Enjoy lessons and a program geared towards helping you advance your skills and ideas during this important time in your life.

11th Grade Portfolio Development: This is a critical time to really experiment and learn how to talk about your process, and make lots of art so that your style can emerge. Let’s work together to start to explore what some Colleges are looking for when it comes to a comprehensively great portfolio!

12th Grade Portfolio Development: Ideally, you’ll already have a collection of art you will be choosing from to assemble into your Portfolio, and we can work together to decide what you may need to edit, add, explore, and consolidate, how to arrange and label your work, find just the right words for your Artist Statements, and think through together which schools may want which pieces! It is suggested that you begin a package in the summer before 12th grade at the latest. I can also do a 3 meeting package if the deadline grows near. My years of experience writing letters of recommendation for art students, preparing them for annual National Portfolio Day events, and specific school applications means that I understand much of what Art Schools are hoping to see.

While I can make no promises about acceptances for colleges, universities, and graduate programs, I have had students attend: Rhode Island School of Design, Maryland College of Art & Design, Chicago Art Institute, Savannah College of Art & Design, Mass Art, Memphis College of Art, NC State Design School, Pratt Institute, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, as well as State Universities and Liberal Arts Schools with a visual art portfolio, to name a few!

I have been attending the National Portfolio Day annually with teenage artists for the last 20 years, and have worked closely with students to engage with Art School representatives about their work. Many students have received scholarships at these events directly.
